Boss OD-1 Overdrive - Vintage 1985

This is one of the cleanest examples of an almost 40 year old pedal, you'll ever see. This is one step away from new-old-stock. Comes with original box, and all paperwork. 

The Boss OD-1 is a legend, a first of its kind. Released in 1976 and produced through 1985, this one here is from the 1985 period, as evident from its still intact "3,000,000 sold band". Before this there were fuzz pedals, which were... well, fuzzy. The OD-1 was the first pedal to give players a rich, saturated, natural over driven sound.

Its unique “asymmetrical overdrive circuit” uses an op-amp chip to create a rich, harmonic tone, that retains all the nuances of a player’s picking technique, similar to an overdriven tube amp. When played into a clean amp, the OD-1 astounded guitar players of the 70's with its “amp-like” feel. When used in front of an already driven tube amp, the OD-1 takes the amp’s sound to new levels of gain and sustain. Jeff Beck was an early pioneer of using the BOSS OD-1 with this technique.
